(07 OBJ BUILDER LIST 1)
ORLANDO, FL – Osprey Custom Homes cemented itself as one of the premier custom homebuilders in Central Florida by ranking No. 3 on ORLANDO BUSINESS JOURNAL'S 2007 BOOK OF LISTS.
In a fitting way to kick off the New Year, the family-owned and operated company was recognized among Central Florida’s homebuilding elite on the strength of a record $34 million in home sales in 2005 – the measuring stick used by the magazine.
It was the highest ranking for the MetroWest company whose building roots go back more than half a century and the seventh straight year that Osprey has made OBJ's year-end list which ranks the top 25 custom builders in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake counties on value of homes sold. Last year Osprey Custom Homes ranked No. 12 on OBJ's 2006 BOOK OF LISTS.
Osprey Custom Homes, which officially launched operations in 1997 under the Osprey banner, chalked up a record $34 million in volume on 24 home sales in 2005 – an average of about $1.42 million a sale, says builder Anthony Lightman.
Although Osprey has made the elite builder list each of the past seven years, it is the first time it has cracked the Top 10, let alone the Top 5. Its previous best was a No. 10 finish in 2003 when it closed out the year with $11.1 million in sales volume.
"It's a wonderful way to ring in the New Year," says Lightman. "It also means the bar has been raised and trying to improve upon this year's showing will be an even tougher challenge. With that being said, we're going to savor the moment. To be recognized among the Top 5 homebuilders in Central Florida is a great accomplishment, especially when you think of all the quality custom builders Central Florida has to offer."
Over the past four years, Osprey certainly has been one of the area’s busiest builders, building nearly 75 homes and posting approximately $66 million in sales volume over that period.
The company currently is building in Keene's Pointe, The Reserve at Belmere, Lake Hancock Reserve at Independence and just recently launched Braemar, an exclusive 49-home lakefront community off Hempel Road in Gotha.
