ORLANDO, FL – Osprey Custom Homes rang in the New Year with its second consecutive Top 10 ranking in ORLANDO BUSINESS JOURNAL'S annual BOOK OF LISTS.
The family-owned and operated company whose roots go back more than half a century continued to solidify its standing as one of the area's premier homebuilders by ranking No. 7 on OBJ's 2008 BOOK OF LISTS which recognized the top 25 custom and semi-custom builders in a four-county Central Florida market.
Osprey ranked No. 7 in last year's Book of Lists.
The company posted its second straight Top 10 showing on the strength of an outstanding 2006 homebuilding campaign in which it chalked up $27 million on 15 home sales – an average of $1.8 million a sale, says Builder Anthony Lightman.
It is eighth straight year that Osprey Custom Homes has made OBJ's year-end list which ranks the top 25 custom builders in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake counties according to the dollar value of homes sold. Two years ago Osprey ranked No. 12 on OBJ's 2006 BOOK OF LISTS.
The company's first foray into the Top 10 was in 2003 when it ranked No. 10 on $11.1 million in sales volume.
"We can't think of a more fitting way to usher in the New Year," says Lightman. "We take a lot of pride in what we've been able to accomplish in this market the past two years."
Osprey Custom Homes, which formally launched operations in 1997 under the Osprey banner, has been one of the busiest custom builders in the area over the past two years, ringing up 39 homes sales for more than $60 million.
"To be ranked among the Top 10 custom homebuilders in Central Florida is a great accomplishment, especially when you think of all the quality custom builders Central Florida has to offer," notes Lightman.
The company currently is building in Keene's Pointe, The Reserve at Belmere, Lake Hancock Reserve at Independence and Braemar, an exclusive 49-home "green" community off Hempel Road in Gotha.
